Campaigns to come

The successful Save Seafood Tour showed us how interested and excited our guests are in learning about what they eat.  To continue increasing awareness of the issues surrounding our food choices, the Bon Appétit Management Company Foundation is developing future educational campaigns so stay tuned!

Java Jolt: Adding Ethics to Your Morning Brew
The Java Jolt program will educate participants about the ethical choices they face with their daily coffee options and will supply tools to help them act upon their beliefs. Our target audiences are individual consumers and institutional food service decision-makers at colleges across the United States.

Java Jolt will not promote one label or company, but will offer multiple perspectives and a variety of solutions to the ethical challenges facing coffee drinkers. It will encourage individuals to think critically and learn more about a variety of complex issues in order to become more selective and proactive consumers.

A myriad of labels - Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, Utz Kapeh, organic, shade grown, CAFÉ practices and others - promise purchasers they are advancing the causes of environmental protection and social justice. What are their claims? How effective are they? How can a consumer compare competing promises? This program will offer consumers the tools to make comparative decisions about coffee and other products.
